Season Overview
The 1999-00 season was a transitional period for Ajax, which saw them finish 5th in the Eredivisie. The club was the runner-up in the Johan Cruyff Shield at the start of the campaign. In Europe, their UEFA Cup journey ended in the third round against RCD Mallorca. Domestically, they were eliminated in the Round of 16 of the KNVB Cup.
