The 2019 season saw Atlanta United FC, under manager Frank de Boer, achieve significant success. The club won the U.S. Open Cup and the Campeones Cup, becoming the first MLS team to win the latter by defeating Club América. In Major League Soccer, Atlanta United finished second in the Eastern Conference and third overall, reaching the Conference Finals of the MLS Cup Playoffs.
