Season Overview

The 1999-2000 season was a period of significant triumph for Corinthians, highlighted by their consecutive Campeonato Brasileiro Série A title in 1999. Under the management of Oswaldo de Oliveira, Corinthians finished the first phase of the 1999 Campeonato Brasileiro as league leaders with 44 points from 21 games, ultimately defeating Atlético Mineiro in the final to secure their third Brazilian championship. In January 2000, the club achieved international glory by winning the inaugural FIFA Club World Championship. They topped Group A, which included a memorable 2-2 draw against Real Madrid, before triumphing over fellow Brazilian side Vasco da Gama 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a goalless final at the Estádio do Maracanã.
