Season Overview
Inter Milan finished the 1990-91 Serie A season in third place under manager Giovanni Trapattoni. The highlight of their campaign was winning the UEFA Cup, where they defeated fellow Italian club Roma 2-1 on aggregate in the final. Domestically, Inter exited the Coppa Italia in the round of 16, eliminated on away goals by Torino.
Key Players
The squad featured influential players such as Ballon d'Or winner Lothar Matthäus, who was a key figure in their European success. He was part of a formidable "German trio" that also included Andreas Brehme and Jürgen Klinsmann. Italian stalwarts like goalkeeper Walter Zenga and defender Giuseppe Bergomi were also central to the team. Midfielder Nicola Berti also made significant contributions, including scoring in the UEFA Cup final.
