Season Overview
Under new manager Fabio Capello, Juventus finished first in Serie A in the 2004-05 season, though this title was later revoked due to the Calciopoli scandal. The team was formidable on the pitch, conceding only 27 goals in the league. In cup competitions, their journey ended in the round of 16 in the Coppa Italia and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they were eliminated by Liverpool.
Key Players
The squad featured a potent attack with new signing Zlatan Ibrahimović finishing as the team's top league scorer with 16 goals, supported by the legendary Alessandro Del Piero. The formidable defence was built around goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and defenders Lilian Thuram and Fabio Cannavaro. The midfield was marshalled by the creative Czech playmaker Pavel Nedvěd and the dynamic Mauro Camoranesi.
