Season Overview
Under new manager and former club captain Antonio Conte, Juventus enjoyed a remarkable 2011-12 season, winning their first Serie A title in nine years. The team went the entire 38-game league season unbeaten, a new record for the 20-team format. They also reached the final of the Coppa Italia, where they were defeated by Napoli in what was their only loss of the season.
Key Players
The season saw the arrival of key midfielders Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal, who formed a formidable partnership with Claudio Marchisio. Gianluigi Buffon was a stalwart in goal, while the defence was marshalled by Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli, and Leonardo Bonucci. This was also the final season for club legend Alessandro Del Piero.
