In Graeme Souness' first full season as manager, Liverpool endured a disappointing league campaign, finishing in 6th place. However, the season ended in silverware as they lifted the FA Cup, defeating Sunderland 2-0 in the final. The club also reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup.
