Season Overview
The Mexico national football team had a busy period during the 2006-07 season, participating in major international tournaments. Under manager Ricardo La Volpe, Mexico competed in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, advancing to the Round of 16. Following the World Cup, Hugo Sánchez took over as coach in early 2007. Mexico then reached the final of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, finishing as runners-up, and secured a third-place finish in the 2007 Copa América.
