Season Overview
The 1995-1996 season saw Newcastle United, under manager Kevin Keegan, finish second in the Premier League. The team mounted a strong title challenge, leading the league for much of the campaign and at one point holding a twelve-point advantage. In cup competitions, Newcastle United reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup and the third round of the FA Cup. Their strong league finish secured qualification for the UEFA Cup.
