Season Overview
The 2016-17 season marked Rangers' return to the top tier of Scottish football, the Scottish Premiership, after securing promotion the previous season. The club finished 3rd in the Scottish Premiership. Rangers also reached the semi-finals of both the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup during this campaign. The season saw Mark Warburton begin as manager, with Graeme Murty taking over as caretaker before Pedro Caixinha's appointment.

Martyn Waghorn, wearing the number 33, was a prominent forward for Rangers during the 2016-17 season and was the club's top goalscorer across all competitions.
