Season Overview

Celtic finished second in the 2009-2010 Scottish Premier League, six points behind champions Rangers. Tony Mowbray began the season as manager but was sacked in March 2010, with Neil Lennon taking over as interim manager. The club exited the Scottish League Cup in the quarter-finals and the Scottish Cup in the semi-finals. In European competition, Celtic were eliminated in the Champions League play-off round and finished third in their Europa League group.

Key Players

Robbie Keane, who joined on loan in January, was the season's top scorer with 16 goals in 19 appearances. Other significant contributors included midfielders Scott Brown and Aiden McGeady, along with forwards Georgios Samaras and Marc-Antoine Fortuné. Goalkeeper Artur Boruc was also a key figure for the team.
