Season Overview
The 1993 season marked Shimizu S-Pulse's inaugural year in the newly established J1 League. Under manager Émerson Leão, the club had a strong debut, finishing third in the league standings. Shimizu S-Pulse also performed well in cup competitions, reaching the semi-finals of the Emperor's Cup and finishing as runners-up in the J.League Cup, where they were defeated by Verdy Kawasaki in the final.
