Season Overview

The period between 2000 and 2003 was a significant era for Shimizu S-Pulse, marked by both domestic and continental success. In 2000, the club secured its first international title by winning the Asian Cup Winners' Cup and finished as runner-up in the Emperor's Cup. The following year, Shimizu S-Pulse won the Emperor's Cup and the Japanese Super Cup, finishing fourth in the J1 League. They continued their cup success by winning the Japanese Super Cup again in 2002, while maintaining a presence in the top half of the J1 League.
