Season Overview
The 2002-2003 season saw the Yugoslavia national football team, which officially became Serbia and Montenegro in February 2003, compete in the UEFA Euro 2004 qualifiers. Under coach Dejan Savićević, the team was part of Group 9, facing Italy, Wales, Finland, and Azerbaijan. Despite securing draws against eventual group winners Italy and victories over second-placed Wales, the team ultimately failed to qualify for the tournament.
Key Players
This vintage football shirt features the name of Siniša Mihajlović, a renowned defender known for his powerful free-kicks, who was a key figure for the national team during this period. He notably scored in a Euro 2004 qualifier against Finland in October 2002. The squad also boasted talents such as prolific forward Savo Milošević, striker Darko Kovačević, and midfielder Dejan Stanković.
