Season Overview

Under manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, Borussia Dortmund successfully defended their Bundesliga title, finishing first in the 1995-96 season. The club also won the DFB-Supercup. Their UEFA Champions League campaign ended in the quarter-finals, and they reached the same stage in the DFB-Pokal.

Key Players

The squad featured iconic players such as Matthias Sammer, who was moved to the libero position and named German Footballer of the Year. Key offensive players included Andreas Möller, Michael Zorc, Karl-Heinz Riedle, and Stéphane Chapuisat. The team was captained by Michael Zorc.
