Season Overview

Cagliari finished 14th in Serie A in the 1990-91 season under manager Claudio Ranieri. For the 1991-92 season, Massimo Giacomini began as manager before Carlo Mazzone took over in October 1991, leading the team to a 13th-place finish in Serie A. Under Mazzone, Cagliari achieved a 6th-place finish in Serie A during the 1992-93 season, securing qualification for European competition.

Key Players

Key players during this era included Uruguayan forward Enzo Francescoli, who was a consistent presence in the squad. Daniel Fonseca was also a significant attacker, notably scoring 8 goals in the 1990-91 Serie A season. The Umbro shirt features the number 11 and the sponsor FOS (Formaggi Ovini Sardi).
