Season Overview
Celtic finished the 2009-10 Scottish Premier League season in second place. Tony Mowbray began the season as manager but was sacked in March 2010, with Neil Lennon taking over as interim manager. The club reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and the quarter-finals of the Scottish League Cup. In European competition, Celtic were eliminated in the Champions League play-off round by Arsenal and subsequently played in the Europa League group stage.
Key Players
The squad featured players such as Georgios Samaras and Robbie Keane, who joined in January and became the top goalscorer for the season. Other key contributors included Aiden McGeady and Scott McDonald, who later transferred in February 2010.
