Season Overview

The China national football team had a notable period between 2004 and 2006. In 2004, under coach Arie Haan, China hosted the AFC Asian Cup and reached the final of the tournament, ultimately finishing as runners-up. The team also competed in the qualification rounds for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In 2005, China secured victory in the EAFF East Asian Cup. Zhu Guanghu took over as manager from 2005 to 2007.
