Season Overview

Under manager Paulo Autuori, Cruzeiro had a strong 1999 season, finishing 5th in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The club also reached the final of the Copa Mercosur. In 2000, with Luiz Felipe Scolari taking over as manager, Cruzeiro finished 3rd in the league and memorably won the Copa do Brasil.

Key Players

The 1999-00 seasons featured a talented squad with players such as goalkeeper Dida, defenders Cris and Juan Pablo Sorín, and attacking threats from midfielders Ricardinho and Vágner. The attack was led by the prolific striker Müller.
