Season Overview

The 2019-20 season saw Empoli compete in Serie B, the second tier of Italian football. The club finished in 7th position in the league with 54 points. Empoli had a change of management throughout the season, with Cristian Bucchi starting as coach, followed by Roberto Muzzi, and then Pasquale Marino, who managed the team from January 26, 2020, until August 11, 2020. In the Coppa Italia, Empoli reached the Fourth Round.

Leonardo Mancuso was a key attacking player, finishing as the top goalscorer with 13 goals across all competitions. Other influential players included Nedim Bajrami, who contributed 5 goals and 4 assists, and Davide Frattesi, who also scored 5 goals and provided 4 assists.
