Season Overview

The 1995-96 period was eventful for Flamengo, marking the club's centenary in 1995. That year, they finished a disappointing 21st in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. However, in 1996, under the guidance of manager Joel Santana, the team went on to win the Campeonato Carioca undefeated, securing both the Taça Guanabara and Taça Rio.

The celebrated "attack of dreams" featured World Player of the Year Romário, who was joined by the talented Sávio and Edmundo during the 1995 season. The 1996 title-winning squad included key contributors like midfielder Mancuso and defender Ronaldão, with Romário finishing as the top scorer of the Campeonato Carioca with 26 goals.
