Season Overview
Under manager Graeme Souness, this era marked a major resurgence for Rangers. After finishing third in the 1987-88 season, they went on to win back-to-back Scottish Premier Division titles in 1988-89 and 1989-90, beginning their famous 'nine in a row' championship run. The period also saw consistent cup success, with the team winning the Scottish League Cup in both the 1987-88 and 1988-89 seasons.
