Season Overview
Liverpool began the 2006-07 season by winning the FA Community Shield, defeating Chelsea 2-1. The club went on to secure a third-place finish in the Premier League. Their most significant run came in the UEFA Champions League, where they reached the final in Athens but were ultimately beaten 2-1 by AC Milan. In the domestic cups, Liverpool were eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round and the League Cup in the quarter-finals.
