Season Overview
The 2020-21 season saw Manchester United secure a second-place finish in the Premier League, their highest since the 2017-18 season. The club reached the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, where they were eliminated by Manchester City. In the FA Cup, their journey ended in the quarter-finals against Leicester City. After finishing third in their Champions League group, United entered the UEFA Europa League and went on to reach the final, where they were defeated by Villarreal on penalties. A notable result during this campaign was a 9-0 victory over Southampton in the league, which equalled the biggest win in Premier League history.
Key Players
Under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, the team was led by key figures throughout the season. Bruno Fernandes was the top goalscorer for the club in all competitions. The squad also featured prominent players such as Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and the newly signed Edinson Cavani.
