A truly iconic and sought-after piece for any serious collector, this is the authentic 1998-99 Newcastle United away shirt by Adidas. The vibrant blue and yellow colourway, featuring the legendary Newcastle Brown Ale sponsor and classic club crest, instantly evokes a memorable era for the Magpies. A standout design from the late 90s, this shirt is a genuine slice of Premier League history.
This is a rare opportunity to own an authentic piece of Newcastle United heritage.
Season Overview
The 1998-99 season saw a managerial change early on, with Ruud Gullit taking over from Kenny Dalglish. The team finished 13th in the Premier League and had a notable cup run, reaching the FA Cup Final for the second consecutive year, where they were defeated by Manchester United. This cup performance secured their qualification for the following season's UEFA Cup.
Key Players
The squad was led by top goalscorer Alan Shearer, who netted 21 goals in all competitions. Other key figures in the team during this season included Shay Given, Gary Speed, Nolberto Solano, and Dietmar Hamann.
