Season Overview
Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premier League during the 2001-02 season. The season began under manager Dick Advocaat, who was replaced by Alex McLeish in December 2001. The club achieved a domestic cup double, winning both the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup. In European competition, Rangers exited the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round and reached the UEFA Cup Fourth Round.
Key Players
Key players for Rangers that season included top goalscorer Tore André Flo and influential midfielder Barry Ferguson. Other notable players were Claudio Caniggia and Peter Løvenkrands, who scored the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final. The shirts were manufactured by Nike, in their final season as the club's kit supplier, and featured NTL as the main sponsor.
