Season Overview

Under manager Jorge Jesus, the 2010-11 season saw Benfica finish second in the Primeira Liga. The club had a strong showing in domestic and European cups, winning their third consecutive Taça da Liga, and reaching the semi-finals of both the Taça de Portugal and the UEFA Europa League.

Key Players

The squad featured a wealth of attacking talent including top scorer Óscar Cardozo, along with Javier Saviola, Pablo Aimar, and the newly signed Nicolás Gaitán. The defence was anchored by the formidable Luisão, with Fábio Coentrão and Maxi Pereira providing support from the fullback positions.
