Season Overview

The 2009-10 season marked Cardiff City's first in the newly built Cardiff City Stadium. Under manager Dave Jones, the club finished 4th in the Football League Championship, securing a place in the play-offs for promotion to the Premier League, where they reached the final. In cup competitions, Cardiff City reached the Fifth Round of the FA Cup and the Third Round of the League Cup.

Key Players

Notable players in the squad that season included Peter Whittingham, who was also named Player of the Month for October, and striker Michael Chopra. Captain Mark Hudson led the team, alongside key figures such as Jay Bothroyd, Joe Ledley, and goalkeeper David Marshall.
