Season Overview

During the 1989-90 season, Celtic competed in the Scottish Premier Division, finishing 5th under manager Billy McNeill. They reached the Scottish Cup final and the Scottish League Cup semi-finals. The following 1990-91 season saw Celtic finish 3rd in the Scottish Premier Division, also under Billy McNeill, reaching the Scottish League Cup final and Scottish Cup semi-finals.

Key Players

Key players during this period included Paul McStay, Pat Bonner, and Dariusz Dziekanowski. Tommy Coyne was the top goalscorer in the 1990-91 season with 18 league goals. Other notable contributors were Chris Morris, Peter Grant, and new signings like John Collins and Charlie Nicholas.
