Description

Season Overview

Chelsea FC finished third in the Premier League during the 2012-13 season. They began the season in the UEFA Champions League but finished third in their group, subsequently entering the UEFA Europa League. Under interim manager Rafael Benítez, who took over from Roberto Di Matteo in November 2012, Chelsea went on to win the UEFA Europa League, defeating Benfica 2-1 in the final.

Key Players

Key players for Chelsea that season included Frank Lampard, who broke the club's all-time goal-scoring record, along with creative midfielders Juan Mata and Eden Hazard. Fernando Torres led the attack, while Petr Čech, John Terry, and Branislav Ivanović were vital in defense.
