Season Overview

Under manager Graham Taylor, England navigated their qualification to Euro 1992, where this iconic shirt featured prominently. At the tournament in Sweden, the team was eliminated at the group stage following draws against Denmark and France, and a 2-1 defeat to the hosts. This period also marked the beginning of the ultimately unsuccessful and arduous qualifying campaign for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

Key Players

The team was captained by Gary Lineker in his final tournament for his country. The squad also included established figures such as Stuart Pearce, Des Walker, and David Platt, alongside emerging talents like Alan Shearer who made his tournament debut.
