Description

Season Overview

The 2003-04 season saw Galatasaray compete in the Süper Lig, where they finished in 6th position. The club also participated in the UEFA Champions League, where they finished third in their group before entering the UEFA Cup. Their European campaign concluded with an exit in the UEFA Cup Third Round, and they were also eliminated in the Turkish Cup Third Round. Fatih Terim managed the team for the majority of the season, with Gheorghe Hagi taking over in March 2004.

Ergün Penbe, wearing the number 67, was a prominent left midfielder and left back for Galatasaray during this vintage football shirt era, known for his calm presence on the field. He was part of a squad that included other notable players such as legendary striker Hakan Şükür, creative midfielder Hasan Şaş, experienced Dutch defender Frank de Boer, and goalkeeper Faryd Mondragón.
