Season Overview
The 1990-92 period was a significant time for FC Porto in Portuguese football. During the 1990-91 season, under manager Artur Jorge, the club finished second in the Primeira Divisão and won the Taça de Portugal, defeating Beira-Mar in the final. In European competition, Porto reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup before being eliminated by Bayern Munich. The following 1991-92 season saw FC Porto, managed by Carlos Alberto Silva, claim the Primeira Divisão title, their 12th national championship. They also reached the Taça de Portugal final but were defeated by Boavista. Porto participated in the European Cup Winners' Cup during the 1991-92 season, reaching the second round.
