Season Overview

The 1997-98 season, under manager Walter Smith, saw Rangers finish second in the Scottish Premier Division, just two points behind Celtic, and they were runners-up in the Scottish Cup. In the following 1998-99 season, with Dick Advocaat as the new manager, Rangers secured a domestic treble by winning the Scottish Premier League, the Scottish Cup, and the Scottish League Cup.
