Season Overview

The 2015-16 season marked Real Madrid's 112th in existence and their 85th consecutive season in Spain's top flight. The club began the season under manager Rafael Benítez, who was replaced by Zinedine Zidane in January 2016. Real Madrid finished second in La Liga, just one point behind the champions. The team achieved significant success in Europe, winning the UEFA Champions League after defeating city rivals Atlético Madrid in the final. However, their Copa del Rey campaign ended in the Round of 32 due to disqualification.
