Season Overview

The 2017-18 season saw Southampton compete in the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup. The club finished 17th in the Premier League, securing their top-flight status. In the FA Cup, Southampton enjoyed a strong run, reaching the semi-finals before being defeated by Chelsea. Their EFL Cup campaign concluded in the second round with a loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Mauricio Pellegrino began the season as manager, with Mark Hughes taking over in March 2018.
