Season Overview
This period marked a transition for the Seleção, with Paulo Roberto Falcão managing the team until his dismissal in August 1991, making way for Carlos Alberto Parreira. Under Falcão, Brazil finished as runners-up in the 1991 Copa América. With Parreira at the helm, the team reached the quarter-finals of the 1993 Copa América and began the successful qualification campaign that would lead to victory at the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

Key figures included the veteran defender Branco and goalkeeper Taffarel, who were present at both the 1991 and 1993 Copa América tournaments.
