Season Overview
The 2017-18 season marked Arsène Wenger's final year as manager after 22 years with the club. Arsenal finished 6th in the Premier League and began the campaign by winning the FA Community Shield against Chelsea. The club reached the final of the League Cup but were defeated by Manchester City. In their first UEFA Europa League campaign, they advanced to the semi-finals before being eliminated by Atlético Madrid. A notable early exit came in the third round of the FA Cup against Nottingham Forest.

Managed by Arsène Wenger, this was the final season for long-serving defender Per Mertesacker before his retirement. Key figures in the squad included Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Özil, and Nacho Monreal. New signings Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolašinac featured prominently, while Alexis Sánchez departed the club mid-season.
