Season Overview
In 1998, Club América competed in the Mexican Primera División. During the Invierno 1998 tournament, the club finished 3rd in the league table. The team also made history by participating in the Copa Libertadores for the first time, reaching the group stages before being eliminated by River Plate. Carlos Reinoso managed the squad throughout the entire 1998 calendar year.
Key Players
The Club América squad in 1998 featured several notable players. Midfielder Alberto García Aspe was a key figure, as was prolific forward Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who was a top goalscorer for the club. Other important players included goalkeeper Oswaldo Sánchez and midfielder Braulio Luna. Adidas was the kit manufacturer for the club during this period.
