Under manager Walter Smith, the 1992-94 period was immensely successful for Rangers. In the 1992-93 season, they achieved a domestic treble, winning the Scottish Premier Division, the Scottish Cup, and the League Cup. They followed this in 1993-94 by securing their sixth consecutive league title and winning the League Cup again, narrowly missing out on a second successive treble by finishing as runners-up in the Scottish Cup.
