Season Overview
Manchester United finished the 2016-17 Premier League season in sixth place. Under manager José Mourinho, the club won the FA Community Shield, beating Leicester City 2-1. They also secured the EFL Cup, defeating Southampton 3-2 in the final. The season culminated in a 2-0 victory over Ajax in the UEFA Europa League Final, which also secured qualification for the Champions League. Manchester United reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
