Season Overview
In the 2002-03 season, Wolverhampton Wanderers competed in the Football League First Division, the second tier of English football. Under manager Dave Jones, the club finished 5th and achieved promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs, defeating Sheffield United 3-0 in the final. In cup competitions, Wolves reached the Quarter-finals of the FA Cup before being eliminated by Southampton. They exited the League Cup in the Second Round after a penalty shootout loss to Rotherham United.
Key Players
The squad featured experienced players like former England captain Paul Ince and ex-Manchester United defender Denis Irwin. Goalkeeper Matt Murray was a standout performer, earning Man of the Match in the play-off final, while Kenny Miller was the team's top goalscorer. The team wore kits supplied by Admiral.
