Season Overview
The 2009-10 season was a successful one for Ajax, marked by a domestic cup victory and a strong league performance. The club finished second in the Eredivisie, just one point behind the champions, recording an impressive 106 goals throughout the league campaign. Ajax won the KNVB Cup, defeating their rivals Feyenoord 6-1 on aggregate in a two-legged final. In European competition, the team competed in the UEFA Europa League, reaching the Round of 32 where they were eliminated by Juventus.
Key Players
Under the management of Martin Jol, the team was led by prolific striker Luis Suárez, who was the top scorer with 49 goals in all competitions. The squad also featured key players such as Maarten Stekelenburg in goal, defenders Jan Vertonghen and Gregory van der Wiel, and midfielder Demy de Zeeuw.
