Season Overview

The Arsenal 2012–13 season was the club's 21st consecutive campaign in the Premier League under Arsène Wenger. Wearing the striking purple and black hooped away kit, the Gunners secured a fourth-place finish to qualify for the UEFA Champions League once again. Memorable away victories included a thrilling 5–2 comeback against Tottenham Hotspur and an emphatic 7–3 win over Newcastle United, with the kit becoming one of the most distinctive designs of the early 2010s.

This squad featured a blend of experienced leaders and exciting attacking talent, including captain Thomas Vermaelen, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere and Per Mertesacker. Santi Cazorla enjoyed a sensational debut season, while Giroud and Podolski both made strong first impressions following their arrivals in the summer of 2012.
