Season Overview

The 2019-20 season saw Atlético Madrid compete in La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España under manager Diego Simeone. The season was notably interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In La Liga, Atlético Madrid finished third, securing qualification for the following season's UEFA Champions League group stage. They reached the final of the Supercopa de España and the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they were eliminated by RB Leipzig after defeating Liverpool in the Round of 16.

Key Players

The squad featured notable players such as goalkeeper Jan Oblak, midfielders Koke, Saúl Ñíguez, and Marcos Llorente, and forwards João Félix and Álvaro Morata. Kieran Trippier was also a key defender for the team during this period.
