Season Overview
Under manager Frank Rijkaard, Barcelona finished second in La Liga during the 2006-07 season. They reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, losing to Getafe. In the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona were eliminated in the Round of 16 by Liverpool. The club also won the Supercopa de España and were runners-up in both the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Key Players
The squad featured star players such as Ronaldinho, who was the top goalscorer in all competitions, and a young Lionel Messi. Other key figures included Xavi and Carles Puyol. This season marked the first time Barcelona wore a sponsor on their shirt, a non-commercial agreement with UNICEF.
