Season Overview

Blackburn Rovers competed in the Premier League during the 1996-98 seasons. They finished 13th in the 1996-97 season, with Ray Harford and Tony Parkes managing the team before Roy Hodgson took over late in the season. Under Roy Hodgson, the club significantly improved to finish 6th in the 1997-98 Premier League campaign, securing a UEFA Cup spot.

Key Players

Strikers Chris Sutton and Kevin Gallacher were central to the team's attack during this period, with Sutton being the top league scorer in both seasons. Goalkeeper Tim Flowers was a consistent presence in goal. Midfielders Garry Flitcroft and Jason Wilcox also played important roles for the Rovers.
