Season Overview
The 2004-05 period was a successful one for the national team, marked by significant tournament victories. In July 2004, the team won the Copa América, defeating rivals Argentina in the final after a dramatic penalty shootout. This was followed by a victorious campaign in the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup in Germany, where they once again beat Argentina in the final, this time with a convincing 4-1 scoreline. The team also continued its qualification campaign for the 2006 FIFA World Cup during this time.
Key Players
Under the management of Carlos Alberto Parreira, the squad featured a blend of established stars and emerging talent. The Copa América-winning side included standout performers like Adriano, who also finished as the tournament's top scorer, alongside Alex and Júlio César. The following year's Confederations Cup-winning team featured global stars such as Ronaldinho, Kaká, Robinho, and Adriano.
