Season Overview
The 2007-08 season was a dramatic success for Celtic, culminating in their third consecutive Scottish Premier League title. The championship was secured on the final day of the season. In the UEFA Champions League, the club advanced from the group stage after memorable home victories against AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk. Their European campaign ended in the Round of 16 against Barcelona. The club reached the quarter-finals in both the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup.
Key Players
Under the management of Gordon Strachan, the squad featured a number of key performers. Scott McDonald finished the season as top goalscorer alongside Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, whose number 10 this shirt carries, while the midfield was marshalled by Scott Brown and Shunsuke Nakamura. Aiden McGeady provided creativity from the wing, and Artur Boruc was the established first-choice goalkeeper.
