Season Overview
In the 2015 season, Cerezo Osaka competed in the J2 League, finishing in 4th place. The club entered the J2 League promotion playoffs but failed to secure promotion to J1 after a 1-1 draw against Avispa Fukuoka in the final, with Avispa advancing on a tiebreaker. Paulo Autuori began the season as manager, later replaced by Kiyoshi Okuma. In the Emperor's Cup, Cerezo Osaka exited in the first round, losing 1-2 to FC Osaka.
Key Players
The squad for the 2015 season included experienced players such as Uruguayan striker Diego Forlán and Brazilian forward Cacau. Midfielders Hotaru Yamaguchi and Takahiro Ogihara were also key figures for the team. Puma was the kit supplier for Cerezo Osaka during this period.
